In June 2020 Jember experienced inflation of 0.30 percent with the consumer price index (CPI) of 104.76 percent. Of the eight CPI cities in East Java, seven cities experienced inflation and one city experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Malang by 0.44 percent, the lowest inflation occurred in Banyuwangi by 0.06 percent while deflation occurred in Sumenep by 0.15 percent. East Java inflation by 0.28 percent.
Of the eleven expenditure groups, seven expenditure groups experienced inflation, two expenditure groups experienced deflation, and the rest were stable. Group
the expenditure that experienced the highest inflation was the Food Supply group
And Beverages / Restaurants by 1.75 percent and the groups experiencing the lowest inflation are the Housing, Water, Electricity and Household Fuel group by 0.09 percent; while the expenditure group that experienced the biggest deflation was the Recreation, Sports and Culture group by 0.74 percent and the group that experienced the lowest deflation was the Personal Care and other services group by 0.61 percent. Stable expenditure groups include the Communication Information and Financial Services group and the education group.
The commodities that contributed the most to inflation were purebred chicken, side dishes, broiler eggs, laundry fees and shallots. While the commodities that contributed the greatest deflation were gold jewelery, garlic, cayenne pepper, granulated sugar and children's toys.
