The Statistical Recommendation (Romantik) assistance activity is a form of sectoral statistics guidance provided by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) to Regional Government Agencies (OPD) acting as data producers. This activity spans three days, involving the OPDs and requiring coordination with the Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo), which serves as the Data Steward (*Walidata*).
The assistance aims to provide OPDs with an understanding of the purpose, benefits, and mechanisms of Statistical Recommendations, as well as the procedures for submitting statistical activities via the Romantik service at romantik.web.bps.go.id. Statistical Recommendations serve as a coordination mechanism to ensure that sectoral statistical activities conducted by OPDs are well-planned, standardized, and of high quality, while preventing duplication or overlap of statistical activities among agencies.
During implementation, BPS provides guidance and support to OPDs across the entire process—from planning statistical activities, defining objectives, concepts, definitions, and variables, and selecting data collection methods, to the actual recommendation submission process. Through this process, BPS gains insight into the statistical activities planned by OPDs and offers recommendations to enhance the quality and comparability of the resulting data.
Coordination with Diskominfo (as the Data Steward) is conducted to align the implementation of sectoral statistics with local government data governance. The Data Steward plays a role in coordinating data management, verifying data submitted by Data Producers, and supporting data dissemination in accordance with the "One Data Indonesia" (*Satu Data Indonesia*) regulations and local data governance policies. Meanwhile, OPDs, acting as Data Producers, are responsible for generating data within the scope of their duties and authority while adhering to established standards.
The synergy between BPS (as the sectoral statistics supervisor), Diskominfo (as the Data Steward), and OPDs (as Data Producers) is expected to strengthen local government data coordination and governance. This collaboration aims to accelerate the realization of "One Data Indonesia" (SDI) at the national level and specifically support the implementation of "One Data Jember Regency."
