Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Jember Arif Joko Sutejo asked regional heads to play an active role in the success of the 2020 Population Census in accordance with a message delivered by President Joko Widodo asking all ministries or institutions and regional governments and all parties to provide full support to succeeding the population census. This was conveyed by him when meeting with Deputy Regent of Jember A. Muqiet Arif, Monday 20 January 2020.
"We hope that the Jember Regency Government builds coordination and cooperation with all local government officials to succeed the 2020 Population Census," he said in Jember.
According to him the regional head also played a role in mobilizing appeals to participate in online censuses and interviews through circular letters supporting the 2020 Population Census activities in Jember Regency.
The 2020 Population Census is divided into two stages, firstly for the online census carried out on February 15 to March 31, 2020, then the second stage of the interview population census conducted on 1-31 July 2020. "BPS also hopes that the Jember Regency Government invites the public to conduct a Population Census Online (SPO), especially the ASNs in the Jember Regency Government, and invites people who have not yet taken an online census, to be willing to accept census officers in July 2020, "he said.
For this reason, BPS Jember has met with the Deputy Regent of Jember A. Muqiet Arif in the hope that the Jember Regency will help the population census be carried out once every 10 years. "In accordance with the President's recommendations, the regional government has a role in the population census, even the ASN Regency Government of Jember will also get a circular from the regent to succeed the 2020 Population Census," said Vice Regent of Jember A. Muqiet Arif.
According to him the local government was asked to conduct socialization both with billboards and circulars that can be done to succeed the population census because with valid data, all development programs starting from the preparation of the program and others were greatly helped.
